Truer Words Never Spoken

In the news over the weekend, James Blunt says there are times he wishes he wasn't famous.

Don't we all. Don't we all!

He wasn't famous and then he came out with a one hit wonder and he is dating super models. His new album is bland.
"I think our obsession with celebrities is dangerous," Blunt says. "And I think if we're going to celebrate people we should celebrate doctors and nurses and teachers.
I have an idea how about he stops dating super models and starts dating some doctor or teacher then maybe he won't be talked about as much.

Why does he annoy me so?

Yeah me too. he just...irritates me, but I can't quite put my finger on why. I mean his voice isn't terrible. he looks like a spruced up Jon Heder. He's not really offensive in anyway, but whenever I hear his name, my skin crawls.

Rachel and cindy - I'm glad to see there is a consensus on the "James Blunt is annoying" topic ;-)

cindy - yes, this past long weekend through to Monday was Canadian Thanksgiving. It used to be just another long weekend, a pale imitator of the American version. But I think it's evolved over time. Enough people for enough years have watched American TV and said to themselves "I wish we celebrated Thanksgiving like the Americans do". For our part, we had 12 people and three generations at our supper table on Sunday.

My new toy was an injector for pumping the juices back into the turkey. Yum!

It’s nice that Canadians merely celebrate the harvest instead of inventing some complicated story about pilgrims and Indians sitting at a table together sharing a meal and over-glorious attributions to the Christian God almighty as if he’s the only deity who makes wheat…I ramble.
